the great escape  (or are you kidding me?)

This is a summation of the escape plan that Jerry supposedly sent to Karla.

note: Mr. Cabble is a guard.

Cobble was to help Karla get uniforms for hired men to pose as policemen bringing in a man to be put in jail. This man had been hired by Jerry. Before that, another of Jerry’s men was to come upstairs on the pretense of making bond for a prisoner. This man will steal a key—-supposedly easy to do—-that controls the elevator. Then, something within a few blocks of the jail will be set on fire, so the guards will check on what is happening. Cobble will take a change of clothes for Jerry and put them in a motel room. For all this, he was to be paid $250,000. After Jerry was whisked from jail and changed clothes in the motel, he was to placed in the back of a tractor trailer with a false back where he could hide.

And that’s it.

I suppose if I can believe some of the other inane plans he was accused of plotting to escape, I can believe this. But——--
